Recap : minggu pertama aku

Seperti yg kalian tau aku praktikal kat opis lama aku...so takda apa perasaan excited, takut atau apa apa yg sewaktu dgn dia...cuma dlm sejarah intership akulah org pertama masuk terus pergi stocktake...1hb aku dah kena travel lebih kurang 250 km dari Tawau...client bagi kami sewa mercedes yeeee...tapi ada driver dia la, of kos bukan aku yg bawak...utk tugasan pertama aku kena stocktake 2 kompeni dlm satu hari..Hupseng fertilizer s.b dan Hupseng chemicals sdn.bhd...subsidiary Hupseng group...EY tawau latest client that listed... aku kira guni baja..dulu aku mmg dah expert juga la kira baja ni...so in half day aku settle 5 sample of fertilizer...tu pun kuantiti dia dlm 400,000 guni lebih kurang...keringat juga la lutut aku mengira... lepas lunch ( satu best stock take, makan dgn client mesti best..kami makan seafood hari tu ) aku stocktake chemicals lagi...diorng buat sebatian baja in liquid ni...sumthing like that la...semua settle in 1 day..

esok dia baru aku masuk ofis...jumpa kawan2 lama, junior aku semua dah naik jadi associate 1, and aku duduk dekat bestpren aku yg dah jadi senior...2nd day aku prepare report utk stocktake, isi checklist dia...pastu brief manager in charge about the stocktake...lepas confirm pending items..mgr lagi satu assign aku audit satu kompeni ni... Tawau Cowie Bay Resort S/B, principle business run clubhouse, resort and restaurant...aku buat tu je la sampai jumaat, slow sikit sebab aku nak recall apa patut d buat n client sgt lambat bagi barang yang aku minta, quite teruk juga la dia punya bookkeeping...bagus juga manager aku faham ni...next week aku dah bleh cope dah...cuma aku kena byk assigned stocktake bulan ni, standard la hujung tahun..org nak close akaun...tadi(sabtu) aku 8am till 3pm kira baja lagi...Teckguan trading...sub teckguan group juga la...1of listed co. client ey tawau, tadi bleh tahan juga...nasib baik sampling, aku choose 3 item saja, kalau tak aku ada warehouse besar 6 padang bolasepak utk aku kira guni baja dlm dia..

oh ya aku supposed pegi outstation 2 weeks dekat lahad datu juga, cuma kena extent pegi minggu depan, aku plan bagi alasan nak enjoy raya haji, so aku out from the team...yahoooooo...

1st Week Recap

Well well well.. It's been a week now. It's been like forever for me. 1st week was rather boring for me. Doing the Training, Test, Reading Manuals most of the time.

But I've learned few things such as compiling documents for 1st draft, linking, preparing audit planning, checking ammendments in annual report, "green tick" and of course photocopying.

Next week after the Raya Haji holiday I'll be going out for audit field at my 1st client's site for the internship! It was rather a big company and I've got lots of things to do preparing for the pre-final audit. The overheads alone are more then 10! Lots of Reasonableness Tests to be performed on each aspects to be audited in a very short period. I've taken home last year's Financial Statements and some other soft copies of the things that I should digest. Very complicated since they're much different from the theoretical things that we learned in lectures. Only hands-on experience will tell how good/bad this whole experience will be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Yesterday after work, I was stuck in a traffic jam with Arb and we decided to hopped out from the bus and went to KLCC for dinner and a movie. We ate and watched late night movie (Twilight - was a beautiful love story. Recommendation: Watch it with your love ones). We waited for a friend to pick us up at 2am (I'm still in my office wear, mind you) and reached home at 3.30am!

As for now.. I'm actually home from a warehouse perfume sale at Armada Hotel. Did not get myself anything though; all the good ones were sold out. And the best part is.. I just got back from Aquaria.. All this time I've been going back and forth to KL, only now I really did make it to the Aquaria. Love the fishes! Looking sooooo delicious! Hahaha~

Bad Day : Good Day

Today I woke up as early as usual, 6.30am.. Get ready and went out of the apartment.
Oh, the lift is just on the 15th floor, how lucky am I. Well, that's what I thought. As the lift went down.. 15, 14, then.. STUCK!

Damn it!! Futhermore, I'm the only person in the lift! I rang the alarm for quite some time and called up my fellow house mates. The next thing I know, all my house mates came for the rescue. I opened the door of the lift from the inside only to find out that the lift got stuck in between of the 14th and 13th floor! Bone and Mimi peeked from the 13th floor as if I'm some kind of an extinct animal kept in the Zoo. Funny! Yet scary.. I was there in the lift for a good 30 minutes or more. Arb went down to notify the guards and waited for me at the Ground Floor. When I finally reached down, there Arb and Sean were already waiting for me in front of the lift (and I'm late to catch the bus).

There we were; me, Fitri and Kem waiting for the bus. It's 7.45am and the bus still not here yet. Then Bone rang up and far too kindly offered to drive me to work! Tenkiu Bone, mwah2!! Kem took the bus and Bone came shortly. There we were; me, Arb, Mimi, Fitri being sent to work by Bone via Akleh Highway. Within 10-15 minutes I was at my office! It is far faster driving to work via Akleh I must say.

And today at work.. Training was boring as usual. And did I mentioned I passed my Technology Based Training (TBT) tests? Reading Audit Manual and Ethics & Quality Control Manual were as boring as usual.

This week is solely for training and that's why it's been really boring. Some of my friends (interns) even been booked to go to audit field in Penang and Kuantan for 2 weeks by next week(Blue Team)! And another friend from the Red Team been asked to come along to Miri! I'm in the Yellow Team btw. The Audit Department relatively huge so it's divided into groups. By tomorrow, my schedule for next week should be gazetted already. Haha!!

Today I've been doing "Linking" (checking Trial Balance figures to that of the P&L and BS), comparing final annual report with the ammended piece and finally I did the Audit Planning.. At least those were'nt as boring. Hehe..

1st day

FABER IMPERIAL COURTSo, here's where I'm working.
I'll post the picture of the building itself some other time.

Yesterday was really2 exhausting!

So, there's 8 trainees and 1 permanent staff reported to the office. As for this week, we'll undergo training of 3 modules. All the steps required of the permanent staff, we have to undergo as well.

Met with Alia's friend, Diana. She's been missing today though, been to client's site for audit field i guess. Guess that we'll be doing next week once our training is done.

Attending the training was like going back to lectures all over again. There are 11 chapters to read in the 1st module, and the sub-chapters; sgt byk yer~~
At the end of each chapter will be a test which passing rate is 75%. Need to pass all the tests in this module (completed mine today actually).

So nothing much interesting this week i guess, since it's a training week. Maybe it would be easier to apply for a post as a Junior Associate here in the future since i've undergone all the training.. Well, that said if I wanted to continue in the accounting or audit line..

New age; New hair; Prepping up for internship

I'm posting this here because new hair is definitely a part of my preparation for the internship because before this my hair is definitely not intern-material.

Well, well..

Some of of us seem to have been successfully switched to a different audit firm at the very last minute.. A dear friend of ours tried to changed hers but failed; pity her. BUT this one independent case came as a shock to hear.

Being the host of the sought after gossip portal, I'm responsible to let you know that our dear batch-mate have been successfully transferred to another audit firm.

Just when we thought our family name doesn't mean anything to any success, well, we've been proven wrong.

One thing that I don't get or anyone don't get as well is; why not try first? Giving up because you heard unpleasant rumors about the firm doesn't make you a hero does it? Why not try first, then if you still find it's not worth the legacy you inherited; well move on then. That's just my personal opinion though.

Well, I'm not a fan of dissing the dirt you see.. But once someone wronged me or my friends; it won't be nice J you can expect to see anymore.

Well, who am I to judge huh?
